Roots

We are also what others know and intuit about us, and synthesis lies in the reflections they give back and in the unforeseen, which arrives to verify and expand us. At the start of this journey, we therefore decided to mirror ourselves in the vision of people whose authority, rather than merely legitimizing or blaming us and our mad idea, would help us see farther, wherever we looked, and to nourish ourselves on that tension.

Philippe Daverio [RIP], art historian, communicator, professor, and essayist

Without a perception of the past, it is difficult to invent the future. It is not true that one can start from a point zero; we always start from something that came before us. Real time does not exist; what exists is time in relation to the past, time in relation to the future. The instant slips away, the instant flees.

Tomaso Montanari, art historian and university professor

This project—extraordinary, titanic, imaginative, courageous, a bit mad—deserves to be supported, shared, funded. It deserves to find someone who spreads it like a small flame throughout the rest of the country.

Luca Mercalli, meteorologist, science communicator, and climatologist.

Claudio Strinati, art historian, former Superintendent of the MIC, communicator, and essayist

Do you know that if a work of art disappears from a small town, is stolen, or even destroyed, very often there is not the slightest photographic documentation? And that we will never recover it and will never know anything more about it?

Antonello Caporale, journalist and essayist

Recognising and documenting the territory is a tremendous act of information, a necessary act of democracy, an extremely important, highly relevant, culturally decisive work.
